\nhighest quality methodical physical therapy. The increasingly restrictive medical business
\nmodel necessary for an \u201cin-network\u201d insurance-based PT practice is not aligned with our mission
\nand it does not support our patient-centered Functional Manual Therapy\u00ae (FMT) Treatment Model.
\nTo meet our goal of providing the best physical therapy services you will ever experience,
\n<\/span>we only employ and work with physical therapists who have achieved, or are in the process of
\nachieving, <\/span>the highest distinction of being a Certified Functional Manual Therapist\u00ae.
\nThis distinguished accomplishment <\/span>requires years of study and over 500 hours of post-doctoral
\neducation to develop <\/span>the skills and <\/span>clinical reasoning\u00a0required to be an advanced clinician.<\/p>\n

We realize that being seen at an out of network clinic can be a financial challenge and<\/span>
we do everything we can to keep our prices low enough to allow you to afford this care,
\n<\/span>but at a level necessary to compensate the clinicians who are specialist in their field.<\/p>\n

Direct Access & Your Patient Rights<\/em><\/h3>\n

In Colorado (and all 50 states), patients have the right to seek treatment from a licensed physical therapist without a prescription or referral from a physician. This means that a patient can come to JJPT for an evaluation\/assessment without a doctor\u2019s referral.<\/em> For reimbursement, some insurance plans require a medical doctor\u2019s prescription. We are happy to assist you in figuring out the details of your insurance plan.<\/p>\n

If you have already consulted with your physician, or plan to, they may refer you to a specific physical therapy facility. Regardless of where the physician refers you, it is your legal right to seek treatment from the physical therapist of your choice. You are not bound to receive services only at the specific location of referral.<\/p>\n

Insurance Information and The Out-of-Network Advantage<\/em><\/h3>\n

As an out-of-network provider, JJPT is able to provide high-quality Physical Therapy in the context of one-on-one treatment sessions without an insurance company dictating the length and interventions provided during your visits. We are not constrained by contracts or any third-party requirements that would limit the time we spend with clients or the care we provide. This is a unique advantage.<\/p>\n

Your reimbursement is dependent on your particular insurance plan’s out-of-network coverage and subject to your deductible. It is in your best interest to understand your insurance and to maximize your insurance reimbursement.<\/p>\n

Most of the time, when you see a Physical Therapist (PT), your insurance benefits will not kick in until you have met your deductible<\/strong>. Deductibles are inversely related to premiums<\/strong> – the higher the deductible, the lower the premium (and vice versa). Deductibles are typically in the range of $1,000-$3,000 for an individual and $2,000-$6,000 for a family (though this varies significantly from one insurance plan to the next). If your deductible is $2,000, this means you will be required to pay $2,000 before your insurance contributes anything. After you have spent $2,000 you will be required to pay you co-insurance<\/strong> (usually about 50%) until you meet your out-of-pocket maximum<\/strong>. Once you have met your out-of-pocket maximum, your insurance will cover the entirety of your ‘medically necessary’ costs.<\/p>\n

In-network PTs have contracts with particular insurance companies to accept discounted rates. This rate is passed on to you, the consumer. However, to compensate for decreased reimbursement, these in-network facilities typically must see<\/strong> several patients per hour, and often multiple patients at the same time<\/strong><\/em>. At JJPT you receive care from one of the top PTs in the United States, and the duration of your PT session is determined by you and your PT (instead of the constraints of insurance contracts).<\/p>\n

It is important to understand, that even when seeing a PT at an in-network facility, you must pay out of pocket expenses until you meet your deductible and your insurance kicks in. Unfortunately, people receive bills 2-3 months after PT services have been rendered, and are informed that their insurance covered $0 of their visit, requiring them to be fully responsible for the entire cost of their PT sessions.
